‘Butterscotch B*tch’ Is The VAMPIRE LESTAT’s Best Song Yet (Even If He Doesn’t Think So)

And would we truly expect any less colorful language from the Vampire DIVA, Lestat? I don’t think so. But “Butterscotch Bitch” really paints a picture for us. Luckily, The Vampire Lestat’s latest song is a true bop, or what the masses are describing as “an opulent ode to himself.” This sultry song is also the fourth official single that The Vampire Lestat has released ahead of the premiere of The Vampire Lestat on Sunday, June 7, on AMC and AMC+. You can listen to it now on all of The Vampire Lestat’s artist profile pages. Or just hit play below. Butterscotch Bitch, here we come.

“Butterscotch Bitch” is a true bop. Honestly, it’s one of our favorite The Vampire Lestat songs yet. And that’s saying something because we also really loved “All Fall Down” and “Long Face.” And we absolutely adored Lestat’s cover version of “Dancing With Myself,” which was released alongside the official The Vampire Lestat trailer. All of this, of course, comes in service of making Rockstar Lestat, an incredible vision first painted in Anne Rice’s novel, a reality.

The diva himself is less complimentary. Lestat says of his new song, “Butterscotch Bitch’ is, I hope, the song that feels the most like Daniel Hart, as it’s the song he wrote on a toilet in between vegan burritos and sessions for his Mother Mary score. May it find a home on Anne Hathaway’s rescue dog grooming playlist.”

Charming!

Hart, meanwhile, replied, “’Butterscotch Bitch’ is, I hope, the song that feels the most like Lestat, as it’s the song I wrote with the most knowledge of Lestat under my belt to date. And why not end the songwriting with a song that Lestat wrote about himself? He is, after all, The Lestat-iest Lestat that’s ever Lestat-ed.”

We have to agree that this is quintessential Lestat. And we feel like that’s a GOOD thing. This song is a bona fide earworm. It is actually just an incredible piece of music that I’d turn up the radio for, Lestat or not. The low, sinuous thrums of melody, the catchy beat, the incredible lyrics—pure gold. We are ALL in on this one.

We’ll hear all these songs and more when The Vampire Lestat releases on June 7. In the meantime, you can bite into its synopsis below: “In the new rock and roll centric season, the Vampire Lestat goes on an electric multi-city tour while being haunted by ‘ muses’ from his wild and rebellious past. As his band’s popularity and star power rises, so does Lestat’s influence over vampires and humans alike, leaving others to contend with Lestat’s power in the face of the Great Conversion, an unnatural surge in the vampire population. In addition to Reid, The Vampire Lestat stars Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles and Jennifer Ehle and is executive produced by award-winning producer Mark Johnson, creator, writer and showrunner Rolin Jones, Hannah Moscovitch, along with Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice.
