AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Trailer Gets a ’90s Animated Tribute

By now, most of us have watched the Avengers: Infinity War trailer, lets just say, a few times (I won’t cop to just how many times I watched it in a row…but it was significant). As the ultimate culmination of 10 years and 18 different films, anticipation for Infinity War could not be higher. Seeing the Avengers, along with Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther and the Guardians of the Galaxy, all in one trailer taking on Thanos,  gave pretty much everyone watching a serious case of the feels.

Now YouTube user Darth Blender has recreated the new Infinity War trailer, using shots from the various Marvel animated series from the ’90s. While just about everyone remembers long running ’90s Marvel toons like X-Men: The Animated Series and Spider-Man: The Animated Series, there were a lot of somewhat less popular, but still successful, Marvel animated shows from this period to draw from, including Iron Man, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk, The Silver Surfer, and Avengers United. Those last two only lasted one season each, but they were probably someone’s first introduction to those characters.

Although the ’90s was a rough time for Marvel as a comic book publisher, their characters were extensively utilized on animated programming during this time, which is probably a big reason why the Marvel Studios films all resonate so much with audiences who grew up then. As a large part of Marvel’s success in film can probably be traced to those Saturday morning cartoons, I’d say this Infinity War fan trailer makes for a pretty fitting tribute.

Was your introduction to the Marvel characters via the ’90s animated shows? If so, be sure to let us know below in the comments.
