Avatar: The Last Airbender is gearing up for its live-action return to Netflix soon. But, that’s not the only place that we will be getting new adventures in this universe. A new Avatar: The Last Airbender comic book series is coming from the creators of the Nickelodeon show and Dark Horse Comics. According to Variety, Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Kyoshi Warriors will be told over three monthly issues.

Here’s a quick description of what fans can expect from this new Avatar: The Last Airbender comic book:
Suki and the Kyoshi Warriors leave their island home to join the war against the Fire Nation. Met with suspicion and resentment by the mainlanders, they struggle to prove their worth to the Earth Kingdom. But when that opportunity arises, will they be willing to compromise their values as Kyoshi Warriors to embrace it?
The Kyoshi Warriors is written by Brandon Hoáng with illustrations by BellBessa and Xanthe Bouma. Adele Matera is the colorist for this three-issue series and lettering is by Jimmy Betancourt. The first issue will be released on May 6 and is available for pre-order for $4.99.
