The MCU is continuing to press forward with new films like Thunderbolts*, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Avengers: Doomsday on the horizon. After many years of films, shows, and Multiverse action, there’s this continuous argument that fans are becoming fatigued with this cinematic universe. That doesn’t seem to be the case considering so many people tuned in to watch the Avengers: Doomsday cast chair lineupOpens in a new tab of hours. But perhaps the enthusiasm for the franchise could be waning among some. But, Anthony Mackie, who plays Captain America, says that Avengers: Doomsday will bring that old Marvel feeling back for everyone.
In an interview with IGNOpens in a new tab, Mackie said filming was set to start very soon and that everyone was super excited. “I’m really excited for what this project is going to be,” Mackie affirmed. “It’s going to give the audience that old Marvel feeling that they always had.”

Avengers: Doomsday has a very large cast, some of whom haven’t been announced yet. So it is a little hard to believe that this film will feel more gritty and character-focused like earlier offerings. Who can forget the thrill of Captain America: The Winter Soldier? What a banger. We will see if Avengers: Doomsday does give us that old Marvel feeling when it hits theaters on May 1, 2026.
