ALIEN’s Xenomorph Gets Terrifyingly Accurate Gingerbread Sculpture

With the holiday season now behind us, it’ll be close to a year before many of us will be eating anything made from gingerbread again. But the gingerbread goodness hasn’t necessarily ended with the new year, as thanks to the folks at Geeks Are Sexy, we’ve discovered an Alien-inspired gingerbread creation that looks less like something you want to eat and more like something that looks like it’s about to eat you. Well, more specifically, looks like it’s about to plant its alien embryo inside your body ’til it bursts from your chest cavity, but why nitpick?

This huge gingerbread sculpture of the infamous xenomorph was made by a cake designer from Oslo, Norway named Caroline Eriksson, who in the past created a similarly badass gingerbread version of Transformers’ Optimus Prime. To create this amazing piece of (sort of) edible art, she used homemade gingerbread and assembled it around an iron frame which formed the shape, and then incorporated melted sugar in order to ensure that all the individual pieces hold together. If this inspires anyone out there to make their own version of this to be the centerpieces of their holiday table next year, Eriksson explained how this one is maybe more for decoration that actually eating, saying, “I’ve altered the usual recipe a bit to make it stronger so I wouldn’t recommend for eating, but I’m using twice the amount of syrup, and no baking powder.” Still, as this xenomorph doesn’t have acid for blood, we can almost guarantee it at least smells a lot better than the ones in the movies are supposed to, edible or not.
