Powered by Geek & Sundry

Have you ever wanted to take a road trip with Goofy? Look, I’m not saying this would be the most organized or well-planned road trip, but you know the road would hold plenty of surprises. Too many surprises? Probably. You can find out for yourself with Funko GamesA Goofy Movie Game. Announced Tuesday morning, this board game puts you alongside Max and his friends. You hit the road to try to get to Powerline’s concert in the best seats before the singer makes his grand entrance.

The game play, fittingly, unfurls across a board featuring the US. And yes, the board and card designs scream ’90s. Just look at that color palette. You have to travel to new locations across the country with Max as Powerline progresses in his tour. You’re all traveling towards Los Angeles. But it wouldn’t be A Goofy Movie board game without detours. A roll of the die brings a chance of Goofy taking you off course for something unplanned.

While playing this game does involve some strategy, it’s suitable for players seven and up. Two to four people can get in on the fun. A Goofy Movie game comes with character figures (we saw a preview and they look so detailed) inspired by the 1995 movie. It also has a very Powerline gold sparkly die and original card art featuring recognizable moments from the animated film.

A Goofy Movie Game will arrive on shelves in mid-2022. Talk to your local game shop about placing a pre-order. No judgment here if you schedule extra viewings of A Goofy Movie between now and then to get your Max, Goofy, and Powerline fix. Or maybe you can just listen to “I2I” instead.
