THE MANDALORIAN Season 3 Will Debut in 2023

The Mandalorian‘s season two finale saw Grogu become Luke Skywalker’s first padawan. But the show actually ended with Boba Fett claiming the former throne of Jabba the Hutt. That post-credits scene led to a Disney+ spinoff series, which seemingly meant we’d have an extra-long wait before we could reconnect with our favorite bounty hunter-turned-surrogate dad. Instead, the The Book of Boba Fett delivered The Mandalorian season 2.5. Now that Tatooine has a new daimyo, though, and Din Djarin and his little green tyke have reunited, we’re more than ready for the beloved pair to resume their own journey through the galaxy far, far away. Unfortunately for us, we’re still going to have wait longer than we wanted. Lucasfilm announced at this year’s Star Wars Celebration The Mandalorian‘s third season will debut in 2023.

When The Mandalorian season three comes, it will bring fans back to Mandalore.

The Book of Boba Fett‘s finale put the wheels—or rather spaceship—in motion for The Mandalorian‘s third season. The show not only brought Grogu back to Mando, it gave us greater insight into the former Jedi padawan’s past and training. Those revelations should pay huge dividends going forward throughout the galaxy. We also knew the great Christopher Lloyd will be joining the show, too. But the Star Wars Celebration panel gave us some insights into what else awaits us when the series returns in February 2023.

Bo-Katan herself, Katee Sackhoff, said the series will see her character back on her homeworld. She’ll have to face the consequences of her past failures as Mandalore’s leader. But that difficult trip should also include forgiveness for her mistakes.

During the event, Jon Favreau even confirmed to Cinemablend that he’s working on The Mandalorian season four. Exciting news.

The Mandalorian‘s second season gave us a glimpse at the destruction the Empire brought to Mandalore. It’s only fitting the show might also give us a look at how that great planet began to rebuild itself on the back of its bravest warriors.
