Jason Momoa Leads CHIEF OF WAR Apple TV+ Limited Series

Apple TV+ has announced a new limited series, Chief of War, and actor Jason Momoa will be involved in many facets of the project. According to Deadline, the Game of Thrones/Aquaman actor will executive produce, write, and star in the series. We call that a true commitment to the show.

We don’t know too much about the limited series at present. But Chief of War is created by Momoa and Thomas Pa’a Sibbett. And Apple TV+ has announced that the show will have eight episodes. Chief of War will offer an “epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.” A perspective on the topic that, without a doubt, sorely deserves more space.

Doug Jones will act as showrunner for the upcoming show. And he will join Momoa, Sibbett, Francis Lawrence, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Erik Holmberg as an executive producer. As mentioned, Momoa plans to write for the series. While he has never written for television before, it feels clear he has a passion for this project. Momoa after all is of Hawaiian descent. Thus it makes sense he would want to have a close hand in this series’ development.

In the meanwhile, Momoa appears in another Apple TV+ show. He currently stars in the platform’s See, a dystopian drama that heads into its third season. Momoa will also appear on the big screen in the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom which releases in 2023. He is also slated to play the villain in the next installment of the Fast & Furious franchise (Fast & Furious 10). So it’s a busy time for the actor. This variety in Momoa’s roles and projects will certainly please his fans. We know we look forward to hearing more about Momoa’s Chief of War and the important story the series will tell.
