Classic Universal Monsters Are Getting Scary Good Action Figures

It’s time for Halloween, and that means enjoying everything and anything that comes with our favorite holiday. There’s all the candy and parties, along with costumes and scares. Of course, it’s also the perfect excuse to re-watch some of the most timeless movies ever made, the Universal Classic Monsters films. This year though, we have another way to celebrate those beloved icons of cinema. Jada Toys has announced a new line of officially licensed Universal Monsters action figures.

You’ll soon be able to adorn your home or office with four signature members of Universal Monsters. Jada Toys is releasing six-inch action figures, including Frankenstein’s Monster, The Bride of Frankenstein, Dracula, and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. While the toys are based on the characters of Universal’s films from the 1930s through the 1950s, the figures and their packaging are modern takes.

Each handcrafted figure features more than 20 points of articulation. They’re also “rendered in color and designed in-house by Jada Toys.” Each figure also comes with character-specific accessories, as well as alternate head casts. So you can display them the way you most remember them.

If you’re wondering where the rest of the gang is, don’t worry. Jada Toys has plans to release figures for The Invisible Man and The Wolfman action figures in the next wave. (Though we’re not sure how we’ll be able to find the Invisible Man.) We can’t wait to have the full set of Universal Monsters action figures.

Hardcore fans will also want to be on the lookout for another figure of Frankenstein’s monster, one that won’t be as easy to get. It will be more in line with how the classic monster looked on screen, though. Jada’s Next Level Frankenstein’s Monster figure is a “limited-quantity item” made in grayscale “to accurately recreate the original run of Frankenstein’s Monster appearances in Universal Pictures films from the 1930s and 1940s.” The special Deluxe Frankenstein kit will also come with a functioning operating table like the one seen in his films. As well as “plus accessories and packaging.”

The only downside is that these figures won’t be available until after Halloween. However, you can pre-order the six-inch figures now ($24.99 each). They’ll ship in November. And make sure to be on the lookout for when the Deluxe Frankenstein set goes on sale.

That should be easy for us. We’realways on the lookout for Universal Monsters when Halloween rolls around.
