LEGO’s SEINFELD 30th Anniversary Set Coming to Stores

Seinfeld went off the air in 1998. But the exploits of Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer have endured. The show stands as one of the unquestioned best sitcoms ever. Now it can stand in your home as a LEGO set. The LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th anniversary collection is finally coming to stores.

LEGO has announced that starting July 21 VIP’s will get early access to its new 1,326-piece Seinfeld set. It goes on sale nationwide at LEGO.com and LEGO stores on August 1. This news comes on the anniversary of the show’s debut. The pilot premiered July 5th, 1989. However, this particular set’s story dates back to June of 2019. That’s when LEGO enthusiast Brett Waller of Brisbane, Australia submitted his design to LEGO Ideas. One year later, after getting enough backing from supporters, LEGO announced the commemorative collectible was officially going into production.

It’s not hard to see why it made the cut. The set not only recreates Jerry’s apartment, it features tons of details to add authenticity. That includes Jerry’s kitchen. It has a cupboard full of items, fridge, microwave, and bench to sit at. The apartment also includes Jerry’s living room sofa and dining table. As well as other furniture pieces and decorative items. There’s even a giant pretzel to make Kramer thirsty.

But there’s also a bonus buildable stand-up stage, a Festivus pole, and five mini-figures. You can have fun talking about nothing with Jerry, George, Kramer, and Elaine. Or plot against everyone’s favorite mailman, Newman.

“I loved Seinfeld in the ’90s and recently re-watched them all,” said Waller in a statement. “I thought it was a travesty that a LEGO Seinfeld set didn’t exist so I made an effort to resolve that and make the best rendition of Jerry’s Apartment and the gang that I could. The biggest challenge was trying to cram as much detail from the show into the kitchen, all the cupboards, items in the cupboard and on the bench-tops. But I am very proud of how it turned out.”

He should be. Dare we say, this set is “breathtaking.”

In total the set measures over 12-inches wide, 7-inches deep, and 5-inches tall. Designed for ages 18 and up, the set retails for $79.99. The only downside is that most of us won’t be able to write it off. But only because we still don’t know what a write-off actually is.
