Tessa Thompson and Brie Larson Are Sending Each Other Marvel Fan Art

It’s the team-up we dream of: Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) taking on Thanos and pulling no punches. In real life, Brie and Tessa are teaming up to show off some stunning, colorful fan art and fuel even more dreams. (And did you see the new Avengers: Endgame posters? Valkyrie survived the snap. Anything is possible.)

Marvel cinematic universe fans immediately imagined the two heroes and real-life friends pairing up as soon as Captain Marvel was released earlier this month. Fan artists like Bev Johnson took matters into their own hands, and Brie noticed.

Tessa was into it, replying, “WHAT. we so cute.” She was so into it, in fact, that she couldn’t resist sharing another colorful and romantic piece of artwork from artist Monika featuring the two together.

The two Marvel characters would make an undeniably powerful pair. In an interview with Cinemablend, Tessa said of the fan art she’s seen, “We were just like, ‘Look! It’s us together!’ I think we’re both new to the MCU, so we both retain the sense of like, ‘Can you believe!?’ We’re just like, ‘What? We got capes? What’s happening?!’

“We’re both really geeked out by having dolls and occupying this space. We’re like women’s women, so the idea of getting to do something that little girls are excited about, and people that identify as women feel excited about is cool.”

Tessa also has her sights set higher, expressing a desire in the same interview for an all-women superhero team leading a film in the Marvel cinematic universe. (Evangeline Lilly agrees.) There’s no shortage of incredible, super-powered women who could take on any threat the universe would throw at them. We know we’d be in the front row to see it.
