Queen is one of the greatest, most popular bands in the history of the world because their music has proved timeless and universal. Their music transcends generations and cultures, and it also transcends genres. We’re not talking about how their own discography covers a number of musical styles—we mean their music still rocks even when played in a totally different fashion. In other words, “Bohemian Rhapsody” still sounds epic when played by the “the world’s first and only heavy metal mariachi band.”Metalachi, the musical/comedy group from Hollywood, CA (via Juarez, Mexico), released this fun, clown-filled video for their cover of the iconic Queen hit ahead of the the release of their third full-length album, Tres. Even though both the video and the song are played in a humorous manner, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is so, so good this will still have you banging your head like Wayne and Garth. It’s safe to say we have never heard “Bohemian Rhapsody” played quite like that, and now that we have we’d like to hear even more Queen songs get the heavy metal mariachi treatment. How much fun would “Don’t Stop Me Now” sound with a trumpet and violin? Based on how transcendent Queen’s music has proved to be, it’s safe to guess it would sound amazing.Metalachi’s album Tres will be available digitally on November 11. You can order it on all platforms and through the band’s site. What other classic Queen hit would you love to hear Metalachi cover? Tell us in the comments below.
