Foo Fighters’ New Song “The Line” Absolutely Soars

There’s been a lot of noise so far during the lead up to Concrete and Gold, the upcoming ninth album from rock legends Foo Fighters: They’ve released high quality tracks like “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” and “Run,” they got contributions from Paul McCartney and Justin Timberlake on the new record, and now they’ve unveiled yet another excellent new track, called “The Line.”

Grohl describes the anthemic rocker as “a search for hope in this day and age where you feel as if you’re fighting for your life with every passing moment, and everything is on the line.” That sentiment is certainly echoed by the song’s soaring chorus: “Somewhere? / Are you there? / The tears in your eyes / Someday will dry / We fight for our lives / ‘Cause everything’s on the line / This time.”

The  band also just shared an animated teaser video for “The Making of Concrete and Gold,” which will presumably be some sort of behind-the-scenes look at the album that comes out on September 15th. It has everything: Dave Grohl popping out of some ice cream, Dave Grohl driving a van, Dave Grohl’s head exploding… everything!

Listen to “The Line” above, find the band’s upcoming tour dates below, and let us know in the comments if Concrete and Gold is already an early album of the year candidate for you.
