It was no surprise, after its tremendously successful first season, when Netflix’s breakout hit Stranger Things was renewed for a second season–one set to come out on Halloween. The good news doesn’t stop there, though: Show creators the Duffer brothers just confirmed that a third season has been confirmed, and that they’re looking to end the show with a fourth season (via io9).
In a new interview with Vulture, Matt and Ross Duffer said that the show has been approved for a third season, and added that the fourth season would be an ideal place to stop. “We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross said. Matt added that at that point, the gang will be approaching college age, so their exploits will have to be different: “We just have to keep adjusting the story. Though I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year.”

It’s basically impossible to predict where the show is going to go in its fourth season considering the second season hasn’t even premiered yet, but one thing seems certain: For the sake of the kids, they probably shouldn’t stay in Hawkins, Indiana for all that much longer: “They’re going to have to get the f–k out of this town!” Ross said. “It’s ridiculous!”What do you think’s going to happen in the second season?
