POKÉMON Is Finally Coming to the Nintendo Switch

Pokémon fans have been wondering when they’d be able to hang out with Pikachu and catch their favorite little monsters on Nintendo Switch, and now, we have the answer. At a press conference on Tuesday, Pokémon announced trainers will be able to play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! on Nintendo Switch on November 16, 2018. The game will be set in the Kanto region and is based on Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. It’s about more than porting the idea of Pokémon onto the Switch, too.

The announcement video shows off the different ways the game can communicate with the mobile game Pokémon GO and a fancy Poké Ball Plus that can be used like a Joy-Con…and then you can walk around with your favorite Pokémon in the Poké Ball IRL and interact with it. This how cute everything looks:

Ridiculous, right? How many of you are returning to your sad, abandoned Pokémon GO account in anticipation of transferring your Kanto region critters into your Switch? Based on the fact that the app is crashing as I type, I’m guessing many of you are diving back in to level up your Pokémon and maximize this clever integration.

Also announced during the press conference was Pokémon Quest. The game set on Tumblecube Island is also made for the Switch, as well as mobile devices. It will be free-to-start and released sometime in 2018.

And that’s not all. Not quite. An all-new core series is in development for the second half of 2019.

Whew. All the Pokémon

Will you be choosing Eevee or Pikachu? Tell us in the comments.
