Natalie Portman Raps About the STAR WARS Prequels on SNL

“Say something about the motherf**king prequels.”

Natalie Portman returned to Saturday Night Live on Saturday night; she hadn’t hosted since 2006. Back then, she blessed us with a rap describing a day in her life. “Natalie Raps” was deliciously explicit and hilarious and completely unexpected. And the follow-up, “Natalie’s 2nd Rap” is just as fantastic. It’s been 12 years, so her life has changed significantly, but her sass, beats, and excellent use of profanity have not. She raps about snacking on Tide Pods (don’t do that), motherhood, and yes, the Star Wars prequels. When the interviewer asks Portman if she’s seen the new Star Wars movies, he makes the mistake of saying they’re better than the films in which she played the one and only queen, Padmé Amidala. She defends the films and makes him say something nice about Jar Jar Binks; that’s an exercise everyone should try.

The whole rap is freaking tremendous, but if you want to specifically see the bit about the prequels, you can skip to 1:30. Portman has no time for anyone’s bullshit.

And yes, that is Andy Samberg; he returned to reprise his role as the guy in the Viking outfit.

I’m just going to leave the original rap right here.

Do you think Natalie Portman would ever return to the Star Wars universe? Tell me your opinions in the comments.
