One of the few positives in the fight against COVID-19 is that animal adoptions are way up. Having a cuddly little pal by your side is a great way to deal with social distancing. But not everyone has that option. And as much as we love our frisky feline friends and our very good doggos, we love lots of other creatures, too. Fortunately, some zoos and aquariums are trying to help with that problem. Even if we still can’t so see them, they’re making quarantine a lot more bear-able with livestreams of their animals. Here are some you can check out when you want to check in on them.
The Bronx Zoo
New York City might be strangely quite right now, but not at the Bronx Zoo. You can check in on the Sea Lion Pool, with daily feedings at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. EDT). There’s also a live-cam for the penguins at the Aquatic Bird House (daily feeding at 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. EDT), and the lemurs in the Madagascar exhibit. Make sure you turn the audio on for all of them. But be careful if you’re wearing headphones cause those sea lions are loud!

New York Aquarium
Continue your virtual tour of the Big Apple with two livestream stops at the New York Aquarium. You can see their tank with sharks, sturgeon, and rays. And you can also check out their new exhibit Spineless, with… well, you can guess what kind of sea animals are in that one..

Kansas City Zoo
There’s no such thing as too many penguins live cams, which is why we’re also spending time with the adorable ones at the Kansas City Zoo. It’s also providing an underwater penguin cam. But you can also check in on the zoo’s otters and orangutans.

Animal Adventure
Two other zoos in New York, Animal Adventure in Harpursville and Binghamton, are also running multi live-cams for their giraffes. They are majestic and serene, exactly what we need right now.
Trevor Zoo at Millbrook School
The “only zoo located at a high school,” the Trevor Zoo in Middlebrook, NY, has livestreams of their red pandas, heron nests and trees, and their pond.

Monterey Bay Aquarium
Monterey Bay Aquarium in California is running multiple livestreams, including for their jelly, shark, penguin, and moon jelly tanks, as well as one of the Bay itself.

We’d still rather be visiting all of the animals in person. But even getting to just watch them on our computers is helping.
