Winter is here, within the world of Game of Thrones. After an extended hiatus between seasons, the seventh season of HBO’s epic fantasy series is coming this Sunday. Naturally, this means that the cast is making the late night rounds in one final promotional push. Prior to last season, Kit Harington was still trying to convince fans that Jon Snow wasn’t coming back from the great beyond. Now, Harington is offering up a glimpse of what it would be like if he wasn’t playing Jon at all!
Via Vulture, Harington appeared on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, which unearthed Harington’s supposedly never-before-seen Game of Thrones auditions for other characters. Most of Harington’s attempts were gender benders, in which he played Ceresi Lannister, Arya Stark, Ygritte, and even the mother of dragons herself, Daenerys Targaryen. When none of those hit the mark, Harington tried on a role from a completely different fantasy franchise.[brightcove video_id=”5487997257001″ brightcove_account_id=”3653334524001″ brightcove_player_id=”rJs2ZD8x”]During the interview that followed, Jimmy Kimmel grilled Harington for any possible spoilers and even tried to get him to reveal when he would report back to the set for the eighth season…which would have confirmed Jon’s survival through the seventh season. One of the interesting things to come out of this segment was Harington’s claims that he was asked to shoot fake scenes on his days off just to throw off anyone who tried to spoil the show. He may have been kidding, but it was somewhat ambiguous.
