Warner Bros. 2027 (and Beyond) Film Slate Includes OCEAN’S Prequel and AEGON’S QUEST

Warner Bros. had plenty to celebrate at CinemaCon 2026, from its big Oscar wins with Sinners and One Battle After Another to upcoming films like Supergirl, Clayface, and Practical Magic 2. But the studio also let attendees know that there’s so much to look forward to in 2027. President of Global Distribution Jeffrey Goldstein took the stage at CinemaCon and showed a video of none other than Jack Black singing a song about what Warner Bros. would offer in terms of films in 2027. (We did get other videos from many special folks, too.) There will apparently be 18 films coming in 2027, but let’s talk about what was highlighted.

A Minecraft Movie 2/A Minecraft Sequel (Release Date: July 23, 2027)

The follow up to the smash hit A Minecraft Movie will come to theaters next year. It made a TON of monies at the box office and we can expect the sequel to do the same.

Remain (Release Date: February 5, 2027)

Cheers to a M. Night Shyamalan ghost story! The director himself appeared in a video to briefly tease his film, which he said would remind some fans of The Sixth Sense.

Ocean’s Prequel (Release Date TBD)

Margot Robbie dropped some information about the Ocean‘s prequel film, which will take place at the crown jewel of the Formula One circuit, the Monaco Grand Prix. It will focus on Danny Ocean’s parents back in 1962. And yes, the film will star Robbie as well as Bradley Cooper, presumably as Danny’s mom and dad.

“Before Danny Ocean ever stepped foot in Vegas, two masterminds taught him everything he knows — his parents,” Robbie said at CinemaCon. “You’ll see them in their prime, and in our new movie, pulling off an epic heist at the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.”

Bad Fairies (Release Date: May 21, 2027)

Cynthia Erivo will star in this animated musical film about a gang of fairies. We are down for it!

Margie Claus (Release Date: November 5, 2027)

Melissa McCarthy will be the titular star of this animated film. Santa is missing and Margie is assembling a fine team of North Pole residents to go find him.

No, this is not a new film about Dom Turetto and his family. It’s an action thriller starring Brandon Sklenar, Juliana Canfield, LaKeith Stanfield, Jason Clarke, Sam Claflin, and Trevante Rhodes. It is about a former special forces guy who is recruited by the DEA to lead a strike team against highly-protected drug dealers.

Warner Bros. Teases 2028 Films, Too

It’s also not totally impossible that a new Game of Thrones movie, titled Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Quest, will also hit sometimes in 2027. But it seems more likely for 2028, which has a few Warner Bros. films already on the docket.  Evil Dead Wrath will hit April 7, 2028, Weapons prequel Gladys (could be a working title) is coming September 8, 2028, Final Destination 7 is happening May 12, 2028,  Zach Cregger’s next thriller The Flood August 11, 2028 and an untitled Baz Luhrmann film about Joan of Arc will release on November 22, 2028
