Video from an F-16 Fighter Jet Cockpit Feels Like an Invigorating Flight Simulator

Most of us have probably never been in the cockpit of an F-16 Fighting Falcon proper, but now we can all enjoy the experience from the safety of our desks.

There is new 360 degree footage taken from an F-16’s cockpit, and it’ll knock your socks off… and maybe even inspire you to go fly in an F-16 ’cause you deserve to get away from your desk once in a while! Fly away! We’ll live vicariously through you!

The video of the F-16 doing its thing, which comes via Geekologie, was posted by fighter pilot and YouTuber Josh Mo. Josh is an apparent expert fighter pilot, as well as somebody who is really into hunting, and thanks to his decision to mount a 360 VIRB to the dash of his fighter jet we get to witness what it’s like to pull 8G. From the POV of a chameleon.

Although most of the video is pretty wild AND EXTREMELY LOUD—some of the coolest parts come around 1:02 and then 4:00, when Mo flies by a bursting line of flames on the ground, and then flies next to some old-timey prop-driven fighter planes. (For reference, a single-engine supersonic multirole jet fighter that can hit mach 2—that’s 1,534 mph.)

Aside from this 360 footage, Mo also has 360 VR footage of the flight, which can be found here. Although if this video made you feel kind of queasy, chances are the VR footage will make you feel like you’ve just woken up after a night of poor decisions.

What do you think about this F-16 360 degree footage? Does it make you want to jump into the next fighter jet you see, or are you good on the ground? Let us know in the comments!
