A few weeks ago, several outlets reported that someone on Twitter accidentally found out that Final Fantasy was getting a cookbook. The publishing house quickly removed the name and changed it to “ Licensed Video Game Cookbook.” But, eager players watched and waited to see if, and when, the cookbook would arrive.
Happily, the publisher has officially announced that The Ultimate Final Fantasy Cookbook is coming on November 9. And they shared the book cover and a few pages with recipes and gorgeous foodie photography.

Journey through the rich culinary landscape of Final Fantasy XIV. Featuring favorite flavors from across Hydaelyn and Norvrandt and easy-to-follow instructions, this tome provides numerous tips on how to make the most of your ingredients. Start your day with Farmer’s Breakfast, a very famous and simple-yet-delightful dish; savor the Knight’s Bread of Coerthas; dive into La Noscea’s Rolanberry Cheesecake, and many more.
Now, if you’ve ever played Final Fantasy XIV Online, you already know an active foodie culture exists within that game. Players eat and prepare foods consistently to keep buffs topped off for endgame content. In fact, some players (like this one) have created their own recipes, complete with guides on what stats you will receive for each specific item.
The new cookbook takes it up a notch with professional photography and recipes that will make every FFXIV player drool. Also, the book is written by food blogger Victoria Rosenthal. Rosenthal is the writer behind the popular video game food blog, Pixelated Provisions.

There are recipes for every occasion, though we aren’t talking about Easter dinner here. For example, included are recipes for “quick snacks you can enjoy while exploring Eorzea.” Plus, the publisher also notes that there will be recipes for “decadent desserts and meals fit for royalty.” The book ensures that the recipes are for “cooks of all skill levels” and will have “over 70 recipes” to explore.
Some cool additions to the cookbook include an exclusive foreword written by FFXIV Online Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida. Also, it comes with easy step-by-step directions that ensure you too can learn how to make iconic in-game foods and bring all your FFXIV gaming to life. Well, to your table, at least!
