TCM Sets Sail on 25th Anniversary Classic Film Cruise

I love going on vacation—getting away for a week or two without having to worry about anything but eating, drinking, and looking at stuff. But if I’m honest, most vacations don’t have nearly enough movies for my liking. Sure, there’s lying out on a beach or whatever, but after 45 minutes of that, I start wishing I were watching an old movie. But I’m weird like that, and so are the people at Turner Classic Movies, who understand that sometimes you want to get away while also packing in the flicks, which is why they’re back for another TCM Classic Cruise. Go on a boat and still get great movies.

Casting off from New York City and heading to Bermuda, the Classic Cruise gives you five nights aboard the Disney Magic cruise ship as part of TCM’s 25th anniversary. TCM host and walking film encyclopedia Ben Mankiewicz will act as host for the cruise, and the days will be packed with various cinematic events, like appearances by legendary classic film stars, unique presentations with film experts, in-depth interviews, Q&A sessions, trivia games, and of course, screenings of awesome old movies. It sounds like the annual TCM Classic Film Fest, except on a boat.

There’s a little over a year before the cruise sets off, and will last from October 22-27, 2019, but pre-registration for state rooms begins right now. More information and registration can be found by visiting tcmcruise.com. If you like movies and a life at sea, there’s certainly nothing quite like it.
