Turn Your Favorite Critical Role Lingo Into “Bingo!”

Powered by Geek & Sundry

When you watch Critical Role, chances are you’re already hanging on every word Vox Machina and DM Matt Mercer utter. So why not make a game of it? That’s what Critical Role fan Jessie Slipchinsky decided to do, and so she used a free web site tool to create Critical Role Bingo.

Listen closely to your favorite nerdy-ass voice actors, and you just might fill in your card to make Thursday nights even more exciting.

Jessie has only been watching Critical Role for a few months, but she was instantly hooked, she says, and caught up quickly. “I think watching the episodes so quickly contributed to the idea of the bingo cards,” says Jessie, “because there were certain phrases or actions that became familiar from hearing them in every (or almost every) episode.”

She had recently taken part in a bingo meme on social media while catching up on the show, so the idea came to her easily. “Since I was already basically playing a mental bingo game during every episode, I thought it would be neat to use that resource and make an actual bingo card to reflect it,” Jessie says.

She picked an online tool that allows anyone to edit it to add even more Critical Role phrases beyond “I would like to rage” and “How would you like to do this?”

“I tried to pick phrases that represent all the characters (including Matt!) and that you were also likely to hear in any given episode,” Jessie says. “That’s not to say it’s repetitious — we cheer when Grog rages, or when Percy takes a risk because ‘it’ll be fun,’ even though these are things that happen often. We know, or at least hope, it’s coming, and the anticipation of each is part of the enjoyment!”

So take a look at the bingo cards and add your own favorite phrases, and be sure to play along every Thursday night. You’ll find Critical Role on the Geek & Sundry Twitch channel at 7:00 PM Pacific time.
