Tom Cruise Dances With a Shovel in Bizarre Yet Intriguing DIGGER Teaser

Tom Cruise is bringing laughs to the big screen in 2026. The famed action star will lead Digger, a comedy film from Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment that is directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu. Cruise is set to play the titular character but there are not any other details about the movie at this time. Right now, all we have is a Digger poster, a curious teaser, and a release date. Let’s get into them.

The Digger teaser shows Tom Cruise rocking large cowboy boots, shorts, and some not great hair while he holds a shovel. First, he appears in a basement and then it looks like he’s on a high surface and walking on a railing. That guy has some great balance for sure. The clip says this film will be a “comedy of catastrophic proportions.”

We don’t know what that means but, according to Variety, the logline says that Cruise’s character is “the most powerful man in the world” who “embarks on a frantic mission to prove that he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.” That’s wild.

Warner Bros./Legendary

When your name is Tom Cruise, you could be the only person in a movie just running for miles and people will come out to see it. Thankfully, Mr. Cruise has a stacked cast alongside him, even though we don’t see them in the Digger teaser trailer. Those names include Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde and Emma D’Arcy.

What Is the Release Date for Tom Cruise’s Digger Movie?

Warner Bros./Legendary

Digger will hit theaters on October 2, 2026.
