Exclusive THE WHEEL OF TIME Poster Spotlights Egwene al’Vere

The Wheel of Time premiere approaches. We’re less than a month away from seeing Prime Video’s adaptation of Robert Jordan’s sprawling high fantasy book series on our screens. The TV adaptation, as well as the source books, feature a group of main characters on a journey. Moiraine, a powerful Aes Sedai, travels to a remote village with her Warder (basically like her bodyguard) to search for the Dragon Reborn. She believes it to be one of four youths in Emond’s Field: Rand al’Thor, Perrin Aybara, Mat Cauthon, or Egwene al’Vere. And today, Nerdist is exclusively debuting The Wheel of Time character poster for Egwene al’Vere, portrayed by Madeleine Madden.

Strong-willed and adventurous, Egwene may be the only character of the Emond’s Field group who is okay with leaving the village. Possibly even looking forward to the journey? I definitely related to being from a small farm town and feeling very ready to see more of the world. As the innkeeper’s daughter and friend to the village’s Wisdom, Nynaeve al’Meara, Egwene is very much in the middle of any and all goings-on. She helps out at the Winespring Inn and learns from Nynaeve; Egwene sometimes spends time with Rand too (they definitely seem close in The Wheel of Time‘s first teaser).

The Wheel of Time‘s Egwene is one of the four ta’veren Moiraine comes searching for. Ta’veren specifically affect the Wheel of Time’s Pattern. They cause the Pattern’s weave to gather around them, as well as those nearby. And as for that Dragon Reborn Moiraine thinks Egwene may be, that’s a reincarnated figure destined to fight the Dark One and either save the world or destroy it.

That sounds like a lot of pressure. But it’s Egwene. She can handle it.

The Wheel of Time debuts with the first three episodes on November 19 on Prime Video.
