THE SEA BEAST Trailer Teases a Wild Adventure with a Lot of Heart

There are few unlikely duo pairings I love more than a precocious child and an adult who does not know what to do with said child. It’s always charming. Doubly so in a sweet animated offering. The Sea Beast is the latest to employ this incredible trope, as adventuring seaman Jacob Holland just can’t shake eager explorer Maisie Brumble when she stows away on his ship. But something tells me this unlikely duo will have viewers reduced to tears by the end. The Sea Beast‘s teaser earlier this year, gave us a preview of what to expect. During day two of Netflix’s Geeked Week, the film’s star Karl Urban debuted the trailer.

As expected, the trailer gives a glimpse of the film’s sweet central duo, the lush animation, and of course, the titular beast.

Not to take the wrong thing away from the trailer, but it sure did make me want to go on a boat. But, really, there’s so much to love about the trailer. From the looks of it, Jacob’s attempts to get Maisie back to port do not go well. They even take a little sojourn to an island full of wild animals—and Maisie’s new BFF, Blue. It also looks like Jacob’s newest crewmate may even change some of the crew’s more unseemly tactics. They appear to take a Moby Dick—or even Jaws—approach to taking on the beasts. But something tells me that’s not gonna fly with Maisie.
