THE LAST OF US Season 2 Reveals First-Look Images of Joel and Ellie

The Last of Us season one was something of a phenomenon. It was universally hailed as a truly incredible video game adaptation. And though we’ve heard a little bit about season two, like exciting casting news for new The Last of Us characters, we have yet to see anything major from the second season of the series. But now we officially have our first look at The Last of Us season two. Max has revealed two first-look images of Joel and Ellie from season two of the series. And although these The Last of Us season two images don’t reveal much to us about what’s coming, we sure are glad to see Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey back in action.

Take a look at our first look at Joel and Ellie from The Last of Us season two, below:

HBO did not share a brand new logline for The Last of Us season two alongside these first-look images. But it did not that, “Season two returning cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Previously announced new cast includes Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars.”

And for those who need a refresher, the season one logline reads, “Based on the critically acclaimed video game “The Last of Us,” developed by Naughty Dog for the PlayStation® consoles, the story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

We can’t wait to see more new looks, images, and, hopefully, footage, from The Last of Us season two sooner rather than later. Joel and Ellie, here we come!
