Powered by Geek & Sundry

For the better part of the last three decades, The Simpsons have been an indelible part of our lives. After twenty eight seasons, it’s not going away any time soon. Video games have also been a part of The Simpsons phenomena from almost the beginning, although several of the earliest Simpsons games remain largely undiscovered by modern gamers.

Did You Know Gaming’s YouTube channel dive into decades of games ranging from the earliest arcade title to the family’s leap into the world of AAA console gaming. Along the way, several interesting tidbits about the games came up, including the way that Bart vs. The Space Mutants borrowed the plot of They Live, or the fact that The Simpsons arcade game was clearly made before most of the major characters had been fully developed…including a certain secret under Marge’s hair.

The second video from Did You Know Gaming focuses exclusively on The Simpsons: Hit and Run. Inspired by Grand Theft Auto III, the game that put players in an open world version Springfield. Some of the lost lines from this game captured the darker tone of GTA while keeping the Simpsons sense of humor.
