Somewhere in a galaxy far, far away exists a very different version of everyone’s favorite space fantasy saga. In that universe, the original Star Wars trilogy didn’t star Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford. In that universe, the prequel trilogy did not star Hayden Christensen or Ray Park. No, in that universe, a very different group of fresh-faced, hyper-talented young actors inhabited the highly sought after roles and brought them to life. People like Christopher Walken, Al Pacino, Robert DeNiro, and Burt Reynolds, to name a few, all had the opportunity to play major roles in one of the most popular movie franchises of all time, but turned it down for one reason or another. Do they regret it? Possibly. Do we wish we could see the special edition in which Leonardo DiCaprio and Benicio Del Toro are gallivanting around the galaxy far, far away? You better believe it. So before we gear up for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in a few short weeks, let’s celebrate what might have been on a very special episode of The Dan Cave all about the actors who turned down a role in Star Wars.
Which of these actors would you most like to have seen in Star Wars? Who would you add to this list? Let us know in the comments below.
