THE ANGRY BIRDS MOVIE 3 Second Trailer: Red Faces Fatherhood

Just in time for the holidays, The Angry Birds Movie 3 flies into theaters December 23. After saving the world twice, Red (Jason Sudeikis) faces his biggest challenge yet: fatherhood. Trying to keep up with an adventurous son and an independent teenage daughter, Red discovers his parenting skills are a bit out of touch.

Inspired by the fan-favorite game, the Angry Birds made their big-screen debut in 2016’s The Angry Birds Movie. Like the game, the story begins when green pigs land on Bird Island. Red doesn’t believe they have peaceful intentions, and he’s right. He and his oldest friends, Chuck (Josh Gad) and Bomb (Danny McBride), team up to defeat the pigs and using a slingshot to retrieve the stolen, unhatched eggs.

In The Angry Birds Movie 2, the flightless birds and the green pigs were forced to set their differences aside. A vengeful eagle named Zeta (Leslie Jones) set out to destroy the islands both groups call home. Working as one, Red and Leonard (Bill Hader), leader of the pigs, infiltrated Zeta’s icy fortress to stop her once and for all.

Now Red is married to his best friend’s sister, Silver (Rachel Bloom), and the couple has three kids. Two of Hollywood’s rising stars, Emma Myers (June) and Walker Scobell (Glider), play the older children. At 7 years old, Psalm West makes his movie debut as baby Olly. Rounding out the wild bunch is Fuzzy (James Austin Johnson), a pet spider with 10 limbs.

When Red calls in his best buddies, Chuck and Bomb, to babysit, he returns to a disco fiasco. Between juggling the kids and learning the latest slang, it’s up to Red to save Bird Island once again. The island faces complete destruction, and Red must team up with his family and old friends to save the day. The trailer doesn’t reveal the outcome, but if it’s anything like the first two movies, we can trust the bird pals to come through.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 is a perfect watch for families over the holiday break, with powerful lessons about teamwork. To get ready, you can pre-save “Sun Showers” by K-pop idol Jisoo, featured in the movie.
