The shows in AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe have some pretty close ties to one another. After all, Interview with the Vampire‘s Daniel Molloy actually cameoed on Talamasca, and the spy series played The Vampire Lestat’s music in the background of a scene, revealing just how far the vampires’ reach has spread. The Talamasca agent Raglan James also appeared on both shows in different capacities. In the spirit of this camaraderie, we asked William Fichtner, the actor behind Talamasca: The Secret Order‘s head vampire, Jasper, just what Jasper thought of the creative works of his fellow vampires. But it turns out, Jasper, a self-proclaimed solitary vampire, doesn’t care too much about what Interview with the Vampire‘s Daniel Molloy and Lestat are up to. We get the feeling he has no time for their brand of nonsense.

We first asked William Fichtner if Talamasca‘s vampire Jasper had read new-vamp Daniel Molloy’s Talamasca-funded book, Interview with the Vampire. Fichtner chuckled loudly at the question, and we could almost see Jasper emerging from him as he shook his head and said. “No,” very decidedly. And then added, “No, I don’t think he’s read it.”
Okay, so it’s a no-go on the in-universe version of Interview with the Vampire for Jasper. But that’s not a total surprise. It feels like many vampires aren’t too happy with the book. Plus, Jasper HATES the Talamasca, who were heavily involved. So we tried a different tact.
When asked if Jasper is a fan of The Vampire Lestat and his music, Fichtner thought about it just a bit longer. But, in the end, Jasper had no room for the Interview with the Vampire diva either. Fichtner shook his head. “Uhmmmm, no.” But then told us what the vampire Jasper DID like to listen to when he isn’t meddling in the Talamasca’s affairs and doing vampire experiments. “He likes Southern Rock.” And we love that for him.
Honestly, we’re crossing our fingers that one day, William Fichtner’s Jasper and Eric Bogosian’s Daniel Molloy can meet on Talamasca or Interview with the Vampire. We feel like our screens could barely handle all of that snarky awesome, but we’re willing to risk it.
Season one of Talamasca is now streaming in full on AMC+. Interview with the Vampire seasons one and two are also streaming on AMC+ and Netflix. The Vampire Lestat (in all his glory) will release in 2026.
