How much do you love Shrek? No, really think about that question. It’s important, because there’s now a way to make your level of commitment to cinema’s most famous ogre crystal clear. Crystal clear. Literally crystal clear, in fact, because Swarovski has immortalized DreamWorks’ popular ogre with a new collection.
And while that might sound a little silly, the five-piece set is really quite beautiful.
Universal Products & Experiences and DreamWorks Animation have partnered with Swarovski for the company’s newest crystal collection, the Shrek Home collection. It features five pieces celebrating five of the franchise’s best, most important characters. It all stars with the big green guy ogre himself. The Shrek piece includes 551 facets in a variety of colors. Swarovski notes the figurine emphasizes “his wry expression as well as evoking his unmistakable clothes.” He also comes with the collection’s biggest price tag of $750.
His beautiful bride Fiona can also be yours for “just” $600, but her piece actually includes 584 facets. That’s in part because unlike the unadorned Shrek, she wears “her shining tiara of silver-tone metal.” And she’s really pulling it off!
In comparison. the collection’s wonderful crystal Donkey is a bargain at $380. He boasts 264 facets and features “a Shadow Crystal effect to reflect his on-screen color.”
Rounding out the set are the 296-facet Puss in Boots ($330). He stands ready to fight with his grey lacquered metal sword, boots, and hat. You’ll need him if you want to complete the set. And we mean that in more ways than one. He’ll also be able to protect the less courageous crystal Gingerbread Man ($189). The 209-facet crystal comes with a colorful lollipop and a big happy smile.
Why is he smiling? Because he knows that if you bought him and his four friends you must really, really, reeeeeally love Shrek. Or you just love beautiful crystal figurines. Either/or.
