You’ve probably heard of sisters Hannah and Hilly Hindi thanks to their hilarious parodies on their YouTube channel, The Hillywood Show. The two have taken on everything from Twilight to Doctor Who to Lord of the Rings, but their latest parody might just be their best yet. While they’ve already taken on the Winchester brothers in their first Supernatural parody back in 2015, this new follow-up is bigger, better, and even more jam-packed with members of the Supernatural family than before.
Hillywood videos often mash-up spot-on parodies of iconic movies and TV shows with clever reimaginings of a popular, thematically relevant song. For their Supernatural Parody 2, they brought together Supernatural with—what else?—Ghostbusters.
And don’t worry if you aren’t caught up with the show, this parody won’t spoil anything for you. Unlike the first parody, which really focused on the major plot points from season 10, this new parody focuses more on the ghostbustin’/hunter vibes from the show. Though there are winks to major episodes that you might recognize, it’s nothing like the first parody that hit on major spoilers from the most recent season.
Just like the first parody, Hannah Hindi is directing, Hilly Hindi is playing Dean Winchester, and Supernatural alum Osric Chau is playing Sam Winchester. However, while the first parody managed to get quick, dancing cameos from several familiar faces from the Supernatural cast, including Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, and Misha Collins, this new parody has actually pulled them into the action. Just some of the faces you’ll recognize might be Richard Speight (Gabriel/The Trickster), Jim Beaver (Bobby), Kim Rhodes (Sheriff Jody Mills), and even the poor, eternally damned Winchester, Jacob Allen Abel (Adam). But the real fun comes with Misha Collins starting and ending the video in his version of Ghostbusters‘ Janine Melnitz, and the real Sam and Dean—Padalecki and Ackles—teaming up to bust ghosts alongside Chau and Hindi.
Like every other Hillywood Show parody, Supernatural Parody 2 is a fun mixture of silliness and a creative way to show genuine love for a show. And the fact that they manage to wrangle such a huge amount of former and current Supernatural cast members to join in the fun is a testament to how beloved these parodies are in the Supernatural fandom. We can’t wait to see what Hannah and Hilly Hindi dream up next!
