Stranger Things is able to get real nostalgic for itself in animated form. Just as they did with the season five finale ofStranger Things, Netflix is returning to theaters for Hawkins’ next adventure. For one day only, you can watch the first two episodes of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 in limited AMC theaters, five days before the animated show hits streaming.

The Hawkins kids look at something.

Netflix is partnering with AMC Theatres to make this possible. The animated series falls between season two and season three of Stranger Things. After a seemingly ordinary Winter of snowball fights and Dungeons & Dragons, the Hawkins’ kids are swept back into the chaos of the Upside Down. Something sinister growls under the ice, igniting a brand new wave of mystery. The crew will encounter both friendly new faces and terrifying new monsters.

The first two episodes of Tales of ’85 have a combined run time of about 55 minutes. The episodes will play in 34 AMC cinemas across 20 states on April 18. That’s five days before all ten episodes debut on Netflix. Each cinema will have two showings, one at noon and one at 3 PM. This is a much smaller scale than the theatrical run for the Stranger Things 5 finale, which played in roughly 600 theaters nationwide.

The official synopsis of Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85 is as follows:

Our heroes Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Max have settled back into a normal life of D&D, snowball fights, and quiet days. But beneath the ice, something terrifying has awakened. Could it be from the Upside Down? From the depths of Hawkins Lab? Or from somewhere else entirely? Our heroes must race to solve this mystery and save Hawkins in this untold story set in the Stranger Things universe.

Our last sneak peak at the upcoming animated series was in the form of seven neon-dripped out character cards. Coupled with that, Netflix introduced a new punk-loving character. Odessa A’zion joins the cast as Nikki Baxter. If you’re itching to see the next iteration on the big screen, time is of the essence. Tickets for the Tales From ‘85 theatrical preview go on sale on Wednesday, March 18.
