Stranger Things 3: The Game, which will also reach the hands of fans by way of distributor Netflix, has dropped its first trailer, and along with it comes ample details on the game, via Variety. In keeping with Stranger Things‘ devotion to all things, styles, and moods 1980s, the game commits to the 16-bit aesthetic and old school arcade-grade functionality, as you can see for yourself below.

As we can tell by comparing some of the sequences in the above gameplay trailer to what we saw in the first trailer for Stranger Things 3, there’ll be a some notable crossover between the two narratives, as should be no surprise. That said, the game is expected to take players beyond the parameters of the Stranger Things 3 storyline. So even if you binge the entire show within 24 hours of its July 4 release (and we know some of you will), you’ll still have new nooks and crannies to explore should you feel brave enough to take on the Upside Down itself.
Stranger Things 3: The Game will feature the central cast of Hawkins residents as playable characters, each with distinct abilities, and will be functional as a single-player game as well as a co-op. The game will be playable on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Mac, and PC.
