Expressing your passion for a given fandom will never go out of vogue, and these days, you can express your fandom by experiencing it in new, immersive ways. Whether it’s taking a Portkey into the Wizarding World of Harry PotterOpens in a new tab at Universal Studios or preparing yourself to walk into Star Wars: Galaxy’s EdgeOpens in a new tab at Disney Parks, you can be part of the stories you love. A new hyper-reality Star WarsOpens in a new tab experience from The VOID and ILMxLAB is leaning into that notion by putting participants in the middle of a mission for the Rebel Alliance.
Announced in AugustOpens in a new tab, Secrets of the Empire is opening at Disney Springs in Orlando, Florida on December 16 and at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California on January 5. As you can see, your mission goes to the planet Mustafar. The fiery environment that Darth VaderOpens in a new tab calls home means The VOID has opportunities to hit participants with heat to sell the burning temps. I’m guessing having the high groundOpens in a new tab won’t matter, but you’ll have Rogue OneOpens in a new tab‘s K-2SOOpens in a new tab at your side to guide you through the mission and uncover whatever threat the Empire’s hiding under its armor.
Tickets for Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire are available now for $29.95 at The VOIDOpens in a new tab.
Have you already signed up to go on the mission? What other eras would you like to see in future VR experiences? Share your thoughts in the comments.
