Take a Virtual Ride on STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE

Getting onto Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance might be harder than making the Kessel Run. When the new Star Wars ride opened last year in Disneyland and Walt Disney World, it quickly became one of the most popular and sought out attractions. Visitors arrived to the parks early in hopes of snagging a spot in the virtual queue for the ride; the queue filled up every day minutes after opening. And sure, YouTube has tons of ride through videos you can watch to see what the ride is like. But even though that doesn’t take the place of experiencing the thrill of the ride, it’s better than nothing. Fortunately, Disney has taken matters into its own hands and given us a new way to experience Rise of the Resistance from the comfort of our couches.

The company released its own virtual “ride-through” (see below) and it gives us a great in-depth look at the attraction. The three-minute video condenses the fifteen-minute ride by highlighting the most significant parts of the experience along with some fun facts. Be wary because it does include spoilers from storylines to cameos. If you’re someone who has been trying to stay away from spoilers, you may want to sit this one out.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not only Disney’s most innovative attraction, it’s also its most impressive. The attraction has dozens upon dozens of details. It’s an immersive experience that brings you into the narrative more fully than any other ride. There’s a reason why people have been making it a priority during their visits. After watching this video, we don’t blame them.

There’s currently no word on when U.S. Disney parks will re-open, but even with social distancing measures in place, we imagine that the popularity of Rise of the Resistance will make it tough to ride. At least this video prepares us for the magic we can look forward to experiencing when we can set foot into a galaxy far, far away once again.
