Marvel’s Star Wars comics have done a fantastic job at introducing brilliant new characters to the galaxy far, far away. Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca’s Darth Vader, for instance, has given us some of the most iconic new additions, like archeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra and her two evil sassy droids, Triple Zero and Bee-Tee. First introduced in Darth Vader #4, Aphra and her sidekicks fast became fan favorites, and now io9 has revealed that Hasbro will be bringing the characters to life as an exclusive vintage-style figurine set at this years San Diego Comic-Con.
Aphra is a talented droid technician, a skill she picked up as an archeologist. It was her updates and refits on a pair of Clone Wars-era droids that brought her to the attention of Darth Vader, who—after discovering her handiwork on a pirate ship—decided that he needed to add Aphra to his list of top secret allies. Her companions are 0-0-0 (or Triple Zero), a protocol droid with an ancient and deadly personality matrix, and an assassin droid known commonly as a BT-1.
As we reported last year, fans actually voted for Aphra to be turned into an action figure as part of Hasbro’s Star Wars Fan Figure Vote, and she even beat out some iconic Original Trilogy folks like Emperor Palpatine, as well as our beloved Ahsoka Tano! If you’re at San Diego Comic-Con, you’ll be able to pick up Aphra, 0-0-0, and BT-1 at the Hasbro Toy Shop. You’ll have to use your best Jedi mind tricks to make sure you get a set, though, as SDCC exclusives always disappear in less than 12 parsecs.
Will you be braving the queues at Comic-Con to take these cult characters home with you? Are these the droids you’re looking for? Hop in your starship and fly into our comments below!
