CONAN Gives Sneak Peek at a Shocking STAR WARS’ Cantina Band Documentary

Every Star Wars fan knows the Cantina Band from A New Hope, but few know the true story of one of the most successful–and infamous–musical acts in the galaxy far, far away.

Theirs is a classic rock ‘n’ roll story full of sex, drugs, and the constant threat of being thrown into the pit of a monster by Jabba the Hutt. Now all of their triumphs and tribulations will be finally told thanks to a new documentary from Conan O’Brien that will pull back the truth on Tatooine’s most popular rounded-headed performers. And yes, it involves Michael McDonald. Original Blowhards: The Story of Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes is the Behind the Music-esque documentary about our favorite Bith band. During his annual “Conan Con” from San Diego, Conan O’Brien gave a sneak peak at what promises to be an unvarnished look at one of the most successful acts in the universe. In addition to interviews with the band, hear from fellow musicians, producers, patrons of Chalmun’s Cantina, and one very excited, well-coiffed record label president.

We know Comic-Con just ended, but we’re definitely going to need to see some Bingo Fleming and Sethey Boone cosplay at next year’s event.

As for the band, despite looking like “a plate of bad clams having a seizure,” they’re still going strong despite all of their issues. Because at the end of the day no one can rock a Kloo Horn like Figrin D’an.
