I came to Severance late. Thank Kier for that. Normally I’d be upset I missed out on the week-to-week fun of watching a great show in the moment. That’s one of my favorite things! But in this case, it was a blessing that I only started watching just weeks before Severance season two debuted. I don’t know how anyone waited three years for a payoff to that all-time great season one final scene. But now? Now I’m in the same slow-moving boat as everyone else who loves the show, waiting to find out what happens next. Only, none of us will have to wait quite as long this time around. Adam Scott said Severance will deliver its third season a lot faster than its second.
Scott told Deadline the hit Apple TV series will begin filming Severance season three soon. That’s a word everyone involved is keeping in mind: “soon.” He said that while they are “always trying to shorten the amount of time between seasons,” they ultimately think it’s “more important for [the show] to be great than for it to be fast.” However, he also knows it still took too long last time. That’s something they’re hoping to avoid. “We’re definitely planning on getting it out much sooner than the last round, which was three years, which is too long.”
Yeah, obviously. Three years is way, way, way too long. And that’s true of every modern show that takes forever to deliver new episodes.

Of course, “much sooner” isn’t exactly a hard-and-fast time frame. But it does strike us as “no more than two years.” That’s still too long, yes. It would still be a vast improvement, though. Fans, unlike me, smart enough to watch right from the very beginning, suffered almost as much as severed Lumon employee last time.
