Sebastian Stan Shares a Funny Message for His “Dad,” Mark Hamill

For months, fans have noted the strong resemblance that Sebastian StanOpens in a new tab has with a young Mark HamillOpens in a new tab, and both actors have had some fun playing along with the joke. Hamill even used The Empire Strikes BackOpens in a new tab‘s most famous line to humorously acknowledge Stan as his sonOpens in a new tab. Both Stan and Hamill were guests on Good Morning America this week to promote their respective films: Avengers: Infinity WarOpens in a new tab and Star Wars: The Last JediOpens in a new tab. While he was there, Stan took the opportunity to record a message for his “dad” that quickly made Hamill laugh.

Following the video greeting, Hamill declined to directly endorse Stan to play a young Luke SkywalkerOpens in a new tab in any potential movies, because “he doesn’t need me. He’s an accomplished enough actor to get it on his own, and I shouldn’t put my thumb on the scale because it’s not my choice.” Having said that, Hamill offered praise for Stan’s acting talent and said that he would welcome the chance to play Stan’s father.

It’s still unclear if Luke Skywalker has any children, but we’re hoping that The Last Jedi will clear up that mystery. There is possibly a way that Hamill and Stan can rule a scene as father and son within the Marvel Cinematic UniverseOpens in a new tab, if Hamill plays Bucky Barnes’ father in a flashback sequence.
