Good Luck Not Crying During This IRON MAN Tribute Video

Although we tend to think of Iron Man as the fun-loving and wise-cracking centerpiece to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he’s certainly had his share of heartache and tragedy.

That’s a fact this fan film, edited together by YouTube user Top Screen, seems to have set out to remind you. The video is a melancholy and fairly heavy retrospective on the life and times of Tony Stark, as portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., over the course of his eight films in the MCU. And just be aware, you may be dealing with some tears by the end of this one!

While the franchise is filled with many other great characters, without Iron Man there would simply be no MCU. Its entire existence hinges on the career-defining performance given by Downey in that first Iron Man movie back in 2008. Starting with his time in captivity in the very first film and culminating with his confrontation with Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, it is Tony Stark who has had the most significant character journey throughout the past decade, as this tribute video so keenly reminds us all.

Of course, with the fourth Avengers movie still to come, we won’t really know Iron Man’s ultimate fate until next summer, so here’s hoping that the creator of this video tribute will have a happy ending for Tony to contend with when he re-edits this video to cover his entire character arc from start to finish. But we aren’t exactly holding our collective breath for that to happen, as it certainly feels as if Tony is headed for a heroic but tragic ending. But who knows how it will all unfold? Only nine more months to go ’til  Avengers 4, kids. And then we’ll all find out! In the meantime, you can check out Top Screen’s other pop culture tribute videos by clicking here.
