Are you ready for The Munsters to return to our screens? We certainly are after seeing the adorably eerie yet romantic trailer for Rob Zombie’s The Munsters reboot. After all, monsters and other creatures of the dark need love too! And it looks like they are going to find it. The Munsters trailer takes us through the courtship of Herman and Lily Munster. But not everyone is on board, yet… Still, sparks (or is that static from nefarious machines) will fly.
Take a look at first trailer for The Munsters trailer below.
In the trailer for The Munsters, Lilly just wants a man that makes her blood run cold. A man that every time he enters her crypt it’s like a sting to her dead, black heart. And honestly, that is incredibly relatable. She also doesn’t want Grandpa Munster to cook her one up in the lab. No, indeed. That’s how you end up with Nosferatu. (No offense to the Count, himself, of course.) We’re rooting for you, Lily. We can’t wait for this campy love story to touch our cold, dead hearts.
While our first teaser for the movie gave us a fun recreation of the 1960s series opening credits, this trailer shows us more about The Munsters’ plot itself. Although Rob Zombie’s spin is fresh, it definitely looks like he’ll be honoring the original in an excellent way. Plus, we love hearing the surf-guitar music in both our looks. The sound truly grounds us. As Universal Pictures shares, The Munsters is “the perfect combination of nostalgia and electric new talent.”
The Munsters stars Jeff Daniel Phillips as Herman Munster and Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily Munster. Daniel Roebuck co-stars as Grandpa Munster. Additionally, we’ll be seeing two horror icons join them on-screen. Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and The Howling and Cujo star, Dee Wallace will both appear in The Munsters.
A second trailer for The Munsters reveals even more of the movie and reminds us of all of its stars.
Happily, we don’t have to wait too long to indulge in all this light-hearted, monster-movie fun. The Munsters trailer reveals the reboot will arrive in September 2022. It will air on Netflix. Additionally, it will come to Blu-ray, DVD, and digital on September 27.
