POKÉMON THE MOVIE: THE POWER OF US Trailer Introduces a Rookie Trainer

Though Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us hit theaters in Japan earlier this month, fans in America have yet to experience this new corner of the Pokémon world. But don’t be too dismayed, as Fathom Events is planning to bring The Power of Us to theaters for a limited run this fall. Now, the new English-language teaser trailer sets the stage for the film by establishing the setting for the story and introducing Lisa, a high school girl who suddenly finds herself tasked with catching and training her own pocket monsters.

As you can see in the trailer, Lisa was roped into the Pokémon business by her younger brother, Riku. And it appears that Lisa will resist the call until she finally bonds with her own critter. The trailer also unveils other new characters, including a researcher named Trito, an older woman named Hisui, a man named Kagachi, who hates Pokémon, and finally, Largo, an enigmatic girl who lives in the forest.

The trailer also reinforces the mythology of Frau City, which is dependent upon the legendary Pokémon Lugia for the winds that blow through the city. To ensure the survival of the town, Ash and Pikachu will team up with the new trainers as they discover their talents and shared abilities.

Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us will have theatrical screenings on November 24, 26, 28, and December 1 in the United States. Fathom Events has not yet begun selling tickets.
