What is a pizza without crust? Uh, maybe like, a tomato soup with cheese? Actually, never mind that, it was supposed to be rhetorical. We only asked cause there’s big news in the world of chain pizza restaurants. For the first time in more than a decade, Pizza Hut is changing the recipe for its Hand-Tossed pizza crust.

Pizza Hut has announced (in news we first heard at Parade) the launch of its new “Hut Crust” platform. This new initiative includes a $10 large three-topping pizza customers can get with one of three crusts. That includes the company’s Tavern Style and Thin ‘N Crispy options. The third is a “new and improved Hand-Tossed” crust. Here’s how the Hut describes its latest Hand-Tossed version:
The refreshed crust delivers a lighter, airier bite with just the right balance of softness and crisp, bringing a modern upgrade to a classic while staying true to what fans love most about Pizza Hut.
More air. Got it.
As for the rest of this Hut Crust platform, a phrase that somehow means something, the chain is looking to hire an official taste tester. It’s seeking a first-of-its-kind Hut Crust Connoisseur. This hungry individual will become the “official guardian of the Hut Crust platform, responsible for tasting and testing all new crust innovations to ensure they meet Pizza Hut’s iconic standards.” The actual job pays more than $31k and comes with free pizza for a year.

NOT BAD. Would do. If you would also like the gig Pizza Hut says you must try the new Hand-Tossed pizza recipe. Then post an “honest review” on Instagram using #pizzahutcrust #pizzahut_contest and “Hut Crust Connoisseur.” Then go to pizzahutcrust.com to submit a link to their review as their official application.
If you get the job we’ll trust you to actually answer what a pizza would be without a crust. Please do better than “cheesy soup.”
