Pippi Longstocking is coming into your worrllldddd, a freckle faced redhead girl. That sentence resonates with quite a few generations who grew up with this mischievous character. Her books have sold well over 90 million copies over the years and she’s had a few live-action turns as well. Now, StudioCanal is bringing Pippi Longstocking to a new generation in a new film. And, she’s not the only throwback character getting new shine. There’s also a Mr. Men film that will bring that character to today’s audience.
This news comes straight from the studio’s panel at CinemaCon 2026 on April 13. Right now, we can assume both projects are in the early stages of development.
There wasn’t more information offered to us during the panel but we will be keeping our eyes peeled for sure.
