From the depths of the ocean to the adorableness of their kitten rescue camOpens in a new tab, there’s pretty much something for everybody on this channel. And now, you can add one of nature’s most incredible spectacles to that list—the Aurora Borealis.
According to a report coming from the good folks over at Laughing SquidOpens in a new tab, EXPLORE.org has found a way to bring nature lovers the Northern Lights with their Aurora Borealis nightly live stream. Opens in a new tabThe camera that captures all of this natural spectacle is located under the aurora belt at the Churchill Northern Studies CenterOpens in a new tab in Canadian town of Churchill, Manitoba. Below is the Center’s official description for their spectacular live cam show:
“Welcome to nature’s most amazing light show. Located at the Churchill Northern Studies Center in Churchill, Manitoba, this live cam is located directly underneath the aurora oval–one of the best places on earth to watch the aurora borealis, the spectacular atmospheric phenomenon better known as the Northern Lights!”
Some of the more spectacular views from the live cam have already been posted to their Instagram accountOpens in a new tab, and they are true a wonder to behold. Of course, it’s not really the same as being there. But at least for right now, it’s the best that we’ve got. Not only that, but it’s also a stark reminder not to leave nature’s wonders unexplored during the times when we actually can go outside and explore freely.
