One of the most beautiful game soundtracks of all time has finally been brought to vinyl and mastered to perfection. Do you want the delicate piano of “Reunion With Mipha” playing in the background while you do the dishes? Or do your daily run on the treadmill to the mournful yet hopeful violins of “Promise to Sidon?” Well, break out your turntables and your tissues, because The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild LPs have finally arrived.
Composers Manaka Kataoka, Yasuaki Iwata, Hajime Wakai, and Soshi Abe are on display at their best, and with the sound sharper than ever. Soshi Abe brings us the eight-LP set of 130 tracks, covering the whole of the games soundtrack, and the two-LP vinyl has a selection of thirty-four fan favorite tracks from Breath of the Wild.
This is Nintendo’s first commercially released vinyl outside of Japan, and the game giant is coming out swinging. Both albums are available in standard black vinyl, but the alternating blue and gold splatter effect heavyweight limited edition LPs are undeniably gorgeous. The packaging is adorned with archival artwork direct from Nintendo. There’s printed disc-inners, spined inner sleeves, and a rigid board dual slipcase. Heavy duty stuff, folks. Each individual disc-side is themed, representing players’ adventures over the course of the game.
Fans who aren’t vinyl collectors can listen to the collection as well, as the digital soundtrack is available on the Nintendo App, which is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
