Stranger Things 5 is drawing ever closer. The first volume of Stranger Things‘ final season will release on November 26. So far, we’ve seen a Stranger Things 5 trailer, a plethora of teases, and even a series of increasingly unhinged food tie-ins (Bloody Venca-approve Chips Ahoy!, anyone?). And now, in addition to all of this Stranger Things 5 goodness, we get some really fun behind-the-scenes photos. Among other things, these images feature Dustin going full Eddie Munson (and that Hellfire Club shirt is NOT looking good) and an OG Stranger Things ship coming back to life, yes, we mean Stonathan—welcome back from the days of season one yore. In addition to our look at Gaten Matarazzo’s Dustin giving his best Eddie energy in these new Stranger Things 5 images… (And once again, we have to ask, what has happened to him to tear that shirt up so badly?) And the unexpected Stonathan bonanza (Joe Keery and Charlie Heaton), we get new looks at Will and Eleven (Noah Schnapp and Millie Bobby Brown), Nancy and Mike Wheeler (Natalia Dyer and Finn Wolfhard), Robin and Lucas (Maya Hawke and Caleb McLaughlin), and Erica Sinclair (Priah Ferguson). All characters we absolutely LOVE.
We know some of these guys won’t make it through until the end; but for now, we’re happy to see them looking cheerful and excited. Notably missing is Vecna, who is not invited to the fun new Stranger Things 5 images party.
The synopsis for Stranger Things 5 shares, “The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before.
