It’s the rematch fans have been waiting for since news of Obi-Wan Kenobi (and Darth Vader’s return in it) broke out: Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader. And in Part III of Obi-Wan Kenobi, we finally saw old Ben face his nightmare creation in battle on the planet of Mapuzo. And it did not go well for him. Lord Vader put the beat down on his old Master to the point where Obi-Wan needed a bit of bacta dip. And this Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader duel has now been immortalized in LEGO form.
LEGO has released images of their newest Star Wars playest, which perfectly recreates the Jedi vs. Sith rematch showdown on Mapuzo from Part III of Obi-Wan Kenobi. You can see it right here:
There are also four LEGO Minifigures as a part of this playset. Naturally, there is Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, each with their respective lightsabers, Tala Durith, and droid NED-B. All of these characters play a significant role in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Tala comes with a blaster pistol, and NED-B comes with a power hammer and backpack accessory element. As not to traumatize kids, there are no Minifigures of the poor Vader-chocked citizens of Mapuzo in this set. Although we imagine some fans will make some of their own.
The playset contains two rotating battle platforms, a translucent stand for Obi-Wan’s Force jumps, a fire pop-up function, an opening furnace. It also includes a mining cart that can be flipped over and detached. The battlefield measures over 3.5 in. (9 cm) high, 9 in. (24 cm) wide, and 7.5 in. (19 cm) deep. The set contains over 400 pieces overall.
We imagine that the duel in Obi-Wan Kenobi Part III is not the last time Vader and Obi-Wan fight in this series, so we expect a second LEGO set sometime down the line.
You can pre-order the Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Vader LEGO playset now. It releases on August 1.
